Nick the trainer kicked my butt with my first 60 minute workout yesterday, and we didn’t even tackle too much cardio. I have muscles that ache where I wasn’t even sure I had muscles at all, but you know what? It feels good, it feels sore, but I feel a little more alive. I just hope he is as kind to me next time.

I don’t have a trainer every time I work out (wouldn’t that be nice). With my membership I get 2 free trainer/evaluation sesssions and then I also get $200 to use toward trainers whenever I want. We’ll see.

I am a little leery of the gym after reading some reviews on yelp. I read and re-read the membership agreement and I cannot see anything that says I am tried into a 1 or 2 year contract. I am reading that it says I can cancel at any time with 30 days notice. I have also emailed the corporate office to confirm this. Many people on Yelp said that this is what they though too but when they tried to cancel they got told they had a contract. I hate feeling leery of things like this. I’ll see if I hear back from the corporate office on Monday. I have until Tuesday at midnight to cancel for sure.

Sure I would absolutely rather join Boston Sport Club or some other fancy place but I am not going to spend more than twice as much.

Again, maybe I am just being a “Typical Libra” or typically me, worrying too much.

  1. I wouldn't worry to much about it. I've had gym's that was exactly no contract/no commitment. I had no problem. I'm sure if you brought your agreement to the gym, they can write a side not on your contract? I've done that with places to just to be safe. There are so many gyms out there that offer the same thing. I worry a lot too. I had one person said I should be a paralegal…lol!

  2. It's not a Bally's but I have heard terrible stories (from Yelp.com) about them trying to cancel but I am not sure what to do. I mean the price is right, the location is good, and I need to stick to something, so I think I am going to stick with it and then deal with canceling when I need to. I figure if worse comes to work and I need to cancel I can always go to my bank and ask to have my ATM/debit card changed which is how I paid.
